Regarding your move… it depends on how far you are going. U-Haul around here is definitely the cheapest, but definitely the worst. The trucks look like they could die on you in the middle of the move.

For our last move instead of a major company we went with a smaller local firm — it was great and the truck was in great shape. Do you have an option like that around you?

The first time we moved, we used Budget, and they were fabulous. That was 14 years ago, though, so things may have changed. The second time we moved, we used U-haul. They didn’t have any hidden fees that I recall, but they did give us a truck with a bad tire.

Last year when we moved, we knew people with trailers, so we didn’t use anyone. And I’m not planning on moving again for a very long time!
