If you’ve been following my articles at Five Cent Nickel, you notice this week we starting to pack in anticipation of our big move. We’re tackling all our out of season clothes and extra dishes and cookware we rarely use. We’re either packing them up or bagging them up to donate them.

It's packing time!
We got some estimates for truck rentals and I’ve been getting some great feedback from Five Cent nickel readers and I’d like to pose it you guys, what’s the best rental truck company, you’ve worked with?
We don’t want to go with the cheapest if they are going to give us a hard time or sneak in some fees. If you have any advice, please leave a comment, I’d love to make this transition go smoothly.
Now that I shared what we’ve done this week, here’s what my fellow personal finance bloggers have been up to.

Best wishes with your move!
The first time we moved, we used Budget, and they were fabulous. That was 14 years ago, though, so things may have changed. The second time we moved, we used U-haul. They didn’t have any hidden fees that I recall, but they did give us a truck with a bad tire.
Last year when we moved, we knew people with trailers, so we didn’t use anyone. And I’m not planning on moving again for a very long time!
Thanks for the mention!
Thanks for the link.
Regarding your move… it depends on how far you are going. U-Haul around here is definitely the cheapest, but definitely the worst. The trucks look like they could die on you in the middle of the move.
For our last move instead of a major company we went with a smaller local firm — it was great and the truck was in great shape. Do you have an option like that around you?
Thanks for the tip! I’m asking around, but I haven’t found someone who has used any local companies for a move to get their take on it.
