Our cars are 9 and 15 years old, but their mileage doesn't qualify them as clunkers. Hopefully, we'll have some money saved up when they break down and we'll get another fuel efficient car. It would be nice to see it renewed every two years or so. This way, those who were not ready for an opportunity like this will have another chance. Beside, cars will continue to get older every two years and more cars may become clunkers so why not make this a recycling effort, giving breaks to taxpayers who take the initiative just like we do with "green" home improvement.
