I just woke up and I was happy to see some snow. It’s a few inches and it’s a lovely blanket of white. By 7:15am our area had 40 accidents n the area. I hope people have a great day and try to drive safely.
It’s the second review of the year and it’s has gone well. It’s not perfect as one goal we haven’t even come close with. I’m hoping that by sharing our goals, it will help us achieve our goals more consistently.
Our Financial Goals For 2009
How We Did in February
Debt: We did it! Both are cars are paid for and as a bonus we also switched our car insurance and cut our bill in half. The total monthly savings starting this month? $300/month
Spending: We kept our goal. We kept eating down to twice a month for diner and haven’t noticed a decline in our enjoyment. If anything, I like going out more because it’s a treat.
Frugal: He keeps forgetting, but we’ll work on getting his lunch ready. Last week or so I went out for lunch more than planned, so I need prepare my lunches ahead of time too.
Savings: We now have a regular deposit going into the joint savings account. Starting this month, the money we saved with car payments is going towards joint savings.
Two months down, ten left to go. Reaching one of our goals has energized me to see if there are other bills to reduce. As you can see we still have a lot of work to do, but I’m happy with what we accomplished so far.
If you have any suggestions to help us reach our goals, please share. How is everyone else doing with their 2009 goals? Have you had some unexpected changes?

Doing pretty good but the fact that I have a full course load has led to me working less often which has lead to less savings. Thankfully I realize that if I were to only focus on work at my age it would be short sighted so I may have to make less money than expected while I focus on my studies.
