Financial Goal for 2008

in Goals

I’m graduating in 3 weeks and it’s great to see light at the end of the tunnel. Overall, I enjoyed college, but I’m just tired of being a full time student. Now I’m focusing on my career ahead. If I stay with my current job after graduation and work full time, my gross monthly income would be $2,424.80.

I’m writing my goals for 2008. Thanks to Patrick for his contest that gave me a little extra boost to write these goals quicker. J Plus, I would really, really like an IPod. Not only would I put music on it, but I’d like to put some language podcasts on there (Italian and Spanish).

If I had to pick a goal that I’m really focused on accomplishing it would be paying off my car loan. I had gotten it with a 13.75% interest rate and I really want this off my back. I have students loans due in June and it would be great to deal with my students loans as my only debt.

2008 Financial Goal:

I will aggressive pay $700/month towards my car loan bill and pay it off by July 31, 2008.

Mrs Micah and Gather Little by Little also have their goals up. I wish them the best, both for the contest and the goals.

Very nice! Good luck with it. And congrats on your upcoming graduation, I remember my undergrad being such a relief.

P.S. I’m totally about the podcasts too. I’d like to listen to some of the pf bloggers or maybe business lectures from the iTunes lecture circuit. Or others…so much out there!

Yeah, I wish that after all the money you put in for school, they give you all your graduation clothes for free. It will cost me around $90 for my outfit.

Podcasts are awesome and many are free!

Great goal. You’ll be amazed at how much better your car drives once it’s paid off. Best of luck, that is an aggressive goal, but it’s short term so stay with it!

Congrats too on the upcoming graduation, I was there…been a while ago though…let’s see…15 years or so! Wow, I’m getting old!

Patrick- Thanks for the great idea and contest. I hope to write a follow up when I acheive it.

Glblguy- Thanks for your encouragement. I didn’t want to get used to the increase of income until I at least took care of the car loan. I’ll write a post on how the car handles loan free. :)
